Is it possible to Purchase an iPhone 4 on an additional line on the family plan, then move that to the main line, then turn off all data on the new line, so its only 10 dollars per month and just use a basic non smart phone on it?

Yes, but why would you want to pay an extra $10/mo for 2 years just to have an iPhone? That's an extra $200. Why not just get the early upgrade for like $399 or $499.

Well, the line would actually be used as a basic phone, text + voice. I just want to get a good phone out of it for my work phone. I already have unlimited text plan and enough minutes to not move it up.
