How do I find out my purchase date? My company gave me my MacBook Pro as a gift for personal use but I no longer work for the company anymore (they remote wiped it and reformatted it for me). My auto-brightness sensor no longer works so I presume it is a hardware problem. It is a 2019 MBP so I presume the warranty started around July 2019 but I cannot determine the purchase date when I check the serial number online. Would the Apple Store help me or can I find it on my own? I have emails and proof from my company IT that the MBP was gifted to me for personal use (also if Apple wants to check the serial number, it won't show up as stolen).

Apple is quite strict about proof of purchase. I would think Apple will require a copy of the company's original invoice. I would contact Apple Support to ask what your options are. If the warranty started almost a year ago, you should call them asap, and perhaps contact the company's finance department as well.
