I currently have a Macbook Pro (15 inch 2.2 GHz Core Duo, with only 2 GB 667 DDR2 Ram). I believe it is the Santa Rosa LED version.

I am currently looking at the new Macbook Pro 15inch i5 (cheapest 15 inch version).

Should I just upgrade my computer with ram, hd, etc? Is there a real performance gain in obtaining the new i5 over just updating the ram?

I am a computer programmer, I manipulate and browse images moderately, and I lightly game.

Thanks guys.

Stock configuration, as in the computer I currently own?

How much do you think I can sell my current Santa Rosa for?

I completely misread this... my bad.

Mac2Sell for all pricing.

There is going to be a jump, it's hard to say without benchmarking, but getting a new one is probably going to be the better investment.

Hopefully I can get much more then half of what I paid for my current MBP.
