Purchase limit?

I want to purchase 2 Xs - one on VZW for myself and one on TMo for my wife. Is there a 1 per order limit? If so will I be allowed to place 2 successive orders?

Sorry if this has been asked before.
 
Someone may correct me, but they removed purchase limits on iphones a few years ago. It may be different for the X, but I have not seen anything to confirm it would be different. Many years ago the limit was 5. 2 phones should not be a problem at all.
 
They had purchase limits for the 6. It would give scalpers a heyday.

I thought so too but I did a practice run on the 8 for 2 Verizon phones on the app and got a pop up along the lines of “only one carrier phone allowed per order.”

FWIW I didn’t get any such error trying 1 VZW and 1 TMo.
 
I did a test run with the 8 on Apples site and app and got a 2 purchase order limit, no matter the carrier combination I used.

My thinking is the most you could do is 4 if you don't mind putting some grind work in. Meaning, Preorder 2 on the 27th. Then camp out for 2 more overnight. Or will they be able to tell you already preordered by asking/looking up your Apple ID in store?
 
I'm also curious which strategy I should use on 10/27 when I'll be purchasing four X's - one for each member of my family (currently Verizon, replacing for wife and I, adding both kids).
 
Nothing concrete yet. I wouldn't be surprised once the reality of the shortage looms on the 20th-23rd though...

I'll be buying as many as I can get a 3rd delivery date for (maybe even a few weeks beyond if it slips in seconds as I expect it to).

So far I have 5 family members at 3 different shipping addresses ready to go. Might have a 4th lined up here shortly if they do the "2 per address" garbage or something.

It'll be easy money!
