purchase Office or iwork?

I need to get one of these packages and I am trying to decide if there is any reason to spend the extra money on Office or not.

I will mainly be using word/pages for everyday reasons. Are there any drawbacks to using pages for Word docs? All of the files I will be receiving/sending will have to be in Word format.

Will iwork be just fine for me?
