I sold my previous 2010 15" 2.6GHz i7 MacBook Pro for $1,700.

Only question is when I run Geekbench I always end up with random figures. What gives?

Also, I have to give kudos to Apple for giving us finally a worthwhile gpu... at least in the higher spec models.

The different scores will result from other processes using resources, temperatures dictating how high the turbo frequency will go, etc. You won't likely get exactly the same result twice.
