Purchased a song, deleted it from iTunes but it keeps downloading

i purchased a song a while ago on iTunes, i no longer want it but every time i delete it, it re-downloads it again. This doesn't happen with apps so why does it happen with my songs?

You probably have automatic downloads for music set to "on"
 
This. Switch music from "on" to "off"

it was off on my computer and my ipod/ipad but still did it... oh well...
