Purchased from carrier, can you return for replacement from Apple Store

With the rampant complaints of damaged brand new iPhone 5's, just wanted to check if we can return these for replacements from the Apple Store, even if purchased from AT&T?

I believe so. Couple friends have done it before, but they were on Verizon. I don't see why it should be different.

I would imagine so if it's a defect. Although I wouldnt go within 100ft of an apple store after trying to buy an extra lightning cable. Probably 150 people in the small mall store all surrounding about 10 employees.

i believe not. i had a coworker try it and was turned away, obviously they can do GB replacements, but not a new for new swap. (i know all 5's are new right now) so im not sure how the policy is being enforced during launch week, but my guess is not.

Doesn't matter where you bought it. Apple will honor the warranty. I've had one replaced at the apple store that I bought from AT&T.
