Does anyone know the process if I purchased an iPhone for a different line, but want to change it to my own line?

I think I did this with the 5S, but I forgot what I did. Can I call AT&T before I get the phone to swap the sim? I think the SIMS are different, so I don't want to physically swap them out.

I have done the same. And I just talked to ATT rep. He said that if I let Apple store employee know that I am doing cross-upgrade, they will know what to do. I am picking up my phone from Apple store in the morning.

I talked to AT&T. They said to call them. They will activate a Cross Upgrade. I am using my daughter's eligibility for my iPhone 6 Plus. Then, you can complete the activation on your computer/ iTunes, I believe. They just need to switch the phone numbers.

You monster!

I'm also using a family member upgrade... just curious if my grandfathered unlimited data plan would be switched over to the new phone as well during the cross-upgrade process... if done by an Apple employee.

I would like to know this as well! Even though I'm using Verizon. I know it's a far-fetched hope that it'll work...but one can dream!
