I am looking to purchase a new digital camera for quick point and shoot/backup to the D70. The D70 is my wife's and we have an old coolpix camera (4+ years old)

The coolpix takes decent pictures, but the camera drives me crazy.. it takes so long to turn on and prep to take a picture. 4, 5 seconds to take a picture.. so there is a lot of -- oo that would make a great shot -- but by the time the camera is ready the shot is gone. The D70 is a champ, but she has it most of the time, and I cannot justify another SLR in the house.

So --- what cameras are good.. I want something with a fast up time, 5MP or higher, a good lense/zoom, and a decent macro focal length

The top of the line Olympus P&S is very nice and not too expensive. They have the features DSLR users would want and even have a hot shoe for a strobe. Small size too.
It does Video in Quicktime format too. RAW format stills, not much to dislike about it.
