Got a quick question-

Purchased an 8gb 3g iphone less than a week ago, and have now realized the 16gb will be better for me. My brother wants to just pay me what I paid for the phone, and I will then in turn go to get a 16gb from the apple store. Is there anything wrong with this situation? IE will i encounter any problems with getting another phone on the same account? Also, will I have to pay the full 399/499 price or will I only hae to pay the 299 again.

Thanks!

You should still be able to take your 8GB back and change it for a 16GB.

You wont be able to get another iPhone on the same account.

Hope that explains it well enough.

Family account allows you to have more (im guessing) but a normal account just allows one iPhone per account. Else people would buy two and unlock and sell one of them!

Seriously you can only every buy 1 per account? I'm surprised as I could see some folks wanting both colors so they could switch it up every now and again.

For a single line account yes, it is limited to 1 per account. For family plans I think the limit depends on the family plan you have.

You can upgrade your phone for the difference in price between the two models, but your brother will have to buy his own phone for whatever cost is appropriate for him.

Non-AT&T subscriber...he'll get the cheap price.
AT&T subscriber who is "upgrade eligible" he'll get the cheap price.

Other than that he's looking at the full price.

I know this may sound a little sketchy, but would there be any benefit to reporting the phone lost?

LOL, or I guess if someone really wanted another bad enough they could say they dropped it in a lake when fishing

You mean telling AT&T that you lost your iPhone and want a new one? Umm possibly but bit risky...
