I 've ordered my iPhone 6+ for delivery on 19th, without Applecare.

I know I can buy Applecare later but if it is after delivery I believe the phone has to be inspected in an Apple Store to check you haven't already damaged it.

Can I purchase Applecare before delivery to avoid the need to have the phone checked in an Applestore (nearest 90 mins from me)?

Also I don't want to delay delivery by buying it. I would rather go the Applestore later.

Anyone done this?

Even if you do have to have it inspected from what others have said you can call apple and they will have your run a diagnostic tool for them over the phone so you wouldn't HAVE to bring it into a physical store.

I think the inspection is for cosmetic condition, e.g. to make sure you haven't just dropped it and decide to buy Applecare. Maybe only applies to Applecare+
