Here is the situation, I wanted to get the iphone for a while now but my sprint service wont be expired for several months. I had a 30 gig ipod that totally stopped working on me and have been without an ipod since. I wanted to buy an ipod but also wanted to get the iphone so I just figured why not kill two birds with one phone and get the iphone for music and phone. So I was wondering if it was possible to buy the iphone and not use it as a phone right away and later down the line get it hooked up for phone service. Does anyone know if this is possible and if so, would it be a whole lot more to buy the phone without a plan?

You may be able to get out of your Sprint contract now without the Early Termination Fee.

I'm going to do this but I'm waiting until after macworld before I buy.
BTW I don't think you can use the iPhone for anything (including music) until you activate it with AT&T.

I was not able to use mine until I activated it. All I could do was make emergency phone calls to 911 (God that was fun
