Greetings,

I have a Powerbook G4 (1.25 GB ram) running 10.3.9, and would like to get one of the new Nanos running on it. My plan is to purchase the retail 10.5.4 (Leopard) os and install. After including shipping, these are the prices at various locations:

Apple store: $129.00
MacMall: $116
OWC: $122.49
Newegg: $109.95
Amazon: $103.99

Also, to my surprise, Newegg has 10.5.1 for $103.95.

Any reason to go with one over another?

Thanks.

I would say that there is no good reason to order anywhere but the place you prefer- all the merchants you listed are top grade legitimate suppliers and a retail Leopard installer is going to be the same no matter where purchased (unlike the umptymillion Vista versions for instance, including the System Builder/OEM versions of each too).

Pick a place with reasonably priced shipping (and one that hopefully is tax-free when shipping to your location) and enjoy it! :D

I got a family pack for less than any of those from eBay. It might be worth a try, esp. if you need to install on more than one computer (yeah, I know I could use a single copy, but my conscience wouldn't let me).
