Wife is going to purchase a new iPhone 6s plus on Verizon for full retail.
Better to purchase from Apple or direct from Verizon?

Would both versions would still be unlocked?

Apple, get phone from phone company. Get service from carrier. Yes will be unlocked phone. Also consider Apple monthly pay. If you are ok with Applecar+ then you can interest free stretch out payments. Pay off any time and have option to trade in for new phone if you want. Can pay full up front as a well.
