Purchasing a powermac g5 tower. And was wanting to get some opinion on prices.

I found one on craigslists with the follow specs:

Dual G5 2x2Ghz
1.5 GB RAM
300GB HD
Apple Superdrive
nVidia FX 5200 dual DVI - comes with two DVI - VGA adapters
Running OS 10.5.8

Including original install disks

KB / Mouse included

For $300, is this a good deal?

Thanks!

Great Machine! I believe those are the leaking PowerMac G5, If it hasn't started then it's going to soon.
No 2.0GHz systems had liquid cooling. Only ones that were 2.5GHz or faster. I would say its not a great deal, but it seems pretty fair.

prices really depend on the local market
i assume its 300 us dollars as you are from oklahoma , so that would be about 190 british pound
if it would be offered in the uk i would not even consider buying it as i would either only get a empty case for that price or a working G5 that looks like it came out of a crusher with bits falling off

No liquid cooling on the 2Ghz models. And not all G5 LC models leak. Mine hasn't after 5 years and my friend's hasn't either after 6 years. In fact, personally, I have never seen one leak.

Everything looks great. Is the machine worth purchasing?

Although I don't see it as a great deal, it's a fair price. If this is the machine that you want, then go for it!

Getting a fair price on something that you want is better than getting a great deal on something that isn't your cup of tea. :)

are we getting philosophical now ....

there are things I have wanted so long that I would only consent to have them if I could keep wanting them:D
