I have the opportunity to get a Canadian-purchased Ultra 3 next week. I’m interested in this as it would keep blood oxygen in the Vitals app. I do have a question though: will hypertension notifications be enabled if activated and paired with a US iPhone? Or will it be locked to the region of purchase?

I’d like to know the answer to this too. I’m hoping it’s like the hearing test that gets activated when you go to an authorized country.

I did just this in order to have blood oxygen in the vitals app. I was aware that hypertension notifications might not work, but I was ok with that trade off. A day or two after I set the watch up, I was prompted to enable hypertension notifications and walked through the wizard on the phone. It shows "Notifications Are On" now and is recording data.

The funny thing is, I swear it initially gave me a notice that hypertension was not available in my region when I set up the watch.

Ah, bummer, today was the day that was the best opportunity and I ended up canceling my pick up order.

I wonder if y’all can help me. I am thinking about getting the ultra 3 tomorrow and am coming from the 7. I was under the impression from a few articles I found, and a few Reddit posts, that Apple brought back the blood oxygen app that was taken off of 9s and not activated on 10s. Is that not the case? Sorry if this is common knowledge as I’ve been out of the game a long time. Thanks.

Health Canada has just approved the Hypertension alerting. Provinces have to follow but it should be 3-6 weeks, it seems.

In the US it's collecting data from the watch but displaying it on an iPhone app. H/W is still there but used in a different way. You cannot view directly from the watch with the standard Apple software.

Also it apparently will not show up in the vitals app on the watch or phone, which was my main irritation.
