iPod touch purple dot in rear camera?

there is a purple dot in my pictures no matter where I aim the camera. I looked it up and saw others had the same problem and they said they got a new phone/ipod. I cracked my screen a few months ago and I was thinking I could maybe get a new ipod without having to pay for screen repair. do you think they will give me a new ipod, even though the screen is cracked

Probably not. They could say that the purple dot on your photos is caused by dirt that got into the device through the cracked screen.

Or damage caused from whatever broke the screen.
