Purple highlighted menu 10.6??

Just installed 10.6, and noticed all the menus and windows highlights are in purple, can anyone tell me why purple?! its ok but is there a way to change color?

You need to turn off the translucent menu option. Oddly, it can be found in the desktop preference pane.

I see it as a dark purple

It is blue. Check your screen probably?
