It seems like iOS 8 broke push and notifications for lots of different third party apps. First noticed it with Facebook Paper which released an "optimized for iOS 8" update which then broke all push. The app was also completely missing from Notification Center under settings. Same thing has happened with Mailbox. I tweeted back and forth with a Mailbox dev who says it's an iOS 8 issue and not their end but they're trying to get a work around. He said it didn't effect everyone and for those that did deleting and reinstalling worked for some but not all. Didn't work for me. He says it also happened with the Gmail app. Although, for me at least Gmail app is now working. I had to download that until Mailbox is fixed because of course native Mail doesn't support Gmail push. Ugh.
So it seems devs are as if not more frustrated with the incredibly buggy iOS 8 then users are. iOS 8 is obviously still a beta and next time they shouldn't release it till it's ready. Newest hardware and software don't have to be jointly released. And if they insist, hold off the hardware release. All the bugs just make the hardware look bad anyway.
