Where the Air Force sends me
My gmail will no longer push using this:

http://www.google.com/support/mobile/bin/answer.py?answer=138740&topic=14252

For some reason today it is telling me my password is incorrect. I can set it up to fetch using the gmail server and it works fine. That's not an option because i NEED my google calendar on my iphone to push... or at least update itself but that doesn't seem to work set up using gmail fetch.

HELP

I know you can use an exchange account but it seems like it only works about 25% of the time. Of course I'm JB so I could have something conlficting.

Either way, when the heck is google gonna support push? Never because they want Android to look better or what!?!?!

Had anyone heard any info about this?

havent had an issue with gmail activesync/exchange yet.

maybe its more of a signal issue to why you cant get emails?

I'm on wifi at work and at home so about 95% of the time I look at my iPhone its wifi.

Today I had to delete my exchange account using m.google.com for push because it kept saying my password was wrong.

Any fix for this?

I follow this exactly

I've had my gmail pushing using exchange for a long time, but today it's telling me my password in incorrect.

It will all work if I go through Gmail, not exchange, but then I have to fetch not push.

WTF WTF WTF

i really only need this to push so I can get my google calendars to work...
Calendars don't show up when it's fetching for some reason.

Any FIX?

Apparently this is an actual problem google is looking into...

Any way to get my google calendar to sync without exchange?

I've had that password issue as well and just deleted the account and re-synced which seemed to fix it.

Other than that time, its been pretty flawless.

I've deleted and resynced multiple times...

Hopefully it is just a localized problem that will be fixed real soon.

If not, is there anyway to sync my google calendars with my iphone?

My phone did this to me once. It was when I had a 3GS replaced by apple, restored my backup, Gmail worked fine for a day and then bam wrong password. IMAP still worked fine but no push messages from the exchange setup.

I ended up backing up my phone and restoring it to factory, then re-doing my settings/etc (didn't restore the backup). Setup my email and it worked fine.

Thought perhaps it was a certificate issue or something.

Wait what's the difference between having gmail push vs fetch?

If I added a mail account and set it up as gmail, is that push or fetch? If it's fetch, how do I change it to push?

Log in to your account using your computer. It will probably ask you to confirm with a CAPTCHA code. After that, all will be well.

I had this EXACT issue and found out that somehow, part of my google account was locked

Anyway, delete the google sync account from your iPhone, go here and enter the information https://www.google.com/accounts/UnlockCaptcha

Then try set it up again.

This, although you don't need to delete the account from the phone. Just unlock it, and the phone will start getting messages again.

Happened to me and my fiance before. Unlocking the captcha fixes it every time.

The site says "7. Enter your full Google Account email address as the Username.".
Try removing the @gmail.com and just leaving the username. :)

I have my acct setup as push and it works fine for me. You'll probably see a decrease in battery life, but not by much. The only thing I don't like about push is that I can't search the server for emails.

go to exchange input your gmail account on server use m.google.com

you should be all set. mine is pushing realtime
