I'm sure I saw in a Keynotes speech that they would be doing 'Push IM' for various clients (MSN included) with software v2.0. Can anyone confirm this has been done? If so, does it work?

Cheers.

Hi,

Don't mean to overtake the thread but...

I understand 'push email', but how would 'push IM' work eg. with MSN Messenger?

Any help would be appreciated.

Apparently, Apple will have a server set up that all developers who want to have push notifications will be permanently connected to. Now, when you get an IM, let's say, and the developer sees that you don't have AIM open, it sends a message to the Apple notification server, which then sends a direct notification to your phone.
