Push Notification sounds - customizing issue

Is there a limit as to what type of sound can be played as a Push Notification sound?

I've been putting in custom sound clips directly and they don't always play. The sound works on the device, the notification comes in, but the actual sound does not play.

I thought it was a length issue but I have a sound file only lasting 2 seconds...

No one has tried this eh?

I was able to get this working with one program, but not another. I can now get the Baseball Tonight theme when getting updates.

Trying to get this working with Ping, but no go so far.
