Just setting up my new phone

I read in the past that push notifications come through 1 connection to the apple servers as apple controls all notifications.

I'm trying to decide what to turn off and what to keep on.

Am i correct in thinking you could have 100 apps allowed to send notifications and it won't affect your battery life if they only send very occasionally. But if you have 2 apps like twitter and Facebook who constantly ping you with data and turning on the screen it will kill your battery faster.

So simply, it isn't the quantity you have enabled it is how often you receive them?
