I hate them, they're not reliable enough. I am pleased with my iPhone and it surpasses my previous Android phone in every way, except this part. They often don't come through or are delayed by several hours. And if you were supposed to get a push notification when you were in an area without service, you'll probably never get it. It sucks!

Same, I get all the notifications when they come to the phone.

I have found a big discrepancy on the notifications however.

Many people are blaming the actual phone for not getting/receiving late notifications when in fact its the carrier that is the cause.
The phone, will in fact, displace a notification once it is received.
So when your friend says he sent you a text and you didn't get it, don't blame the phone. It only sends what it gets. If nothing is received, you get nothing.

Hello mobile carrier....

I agree. The problem lies with ATT not with the iPhone 4. Try setting the iPhone 4 to wifi only and stay home for 2 days and you'll see. Anyhow, I had the opportunity to test out the iPhone 4 and didn't notice any problems. I haven't used the iPhone 4 on ATT but have used the 3G and I hated the notification service.

Push notices work great for me. It's at&t's text messages that have problems. I've never had a push notice take 30 hours to get sent like I have with text messages.

Ouch

A couple years ago it would take a couple/several minutes sometimes, but lately fairly quick (sometimes, you just need to text your friend even if they're right next to you!)
