(1) I am relying quite a lot on the Notes app on my iPhone. It lets me jot down my research related thoughts quickly and also syncs within seconds to my Mac.

I know that in case I lose my phone or something goes wrong with the software the data is not deleted and stays on the cloud for several weeks.

But how can I get a proper backup of the notes in the Notes app? Or, am I unnecessarily worrying about this?

(2) To conserve battery I have set my gmail accounts to Manual and only my university exchange account is set to Push. Of course my iCloud account is set to Push.

What happens if I completely switch off Push for iCloud? What issues will crop up?

Thanks!

1. You’re worrying unnecessarily. As long as iCloud sync is turned on, your notes are safe.

2. Nothing, just that the emails to your iCloud account will be fetched only when you open the mail app.
