Is PUSH mail only available if my MAC accounts are set up as IMAP?

I prefer to use POP (how I have them set right now) and mail certainly isn't coming any faster than it usually does.

Thanks for any help!

I am 99% sure that POP and Push are mutually-exclusive concepts, due to how those mailboxes work. POP is a pull system, where you go to the mailbox and say "Give me any new messages." Push maintains a connection in the opposite direction, where the server says "I've got mail for you... here it is."

Thanks so much for the quick replies. Guess I have to figure out how to make the switch to IMAP after all.
I know most people seem to love IMAP. I like to save copies of everything including sent messages too I guess I have to figure out how to create folders or something that will do that.
