I have a official developer version of 4.0 on my 3G, so that part is legit.

Could i just download the 3GS version of 4.0 and install that on my 3G to get the rest of the features (IE multitasking)? or would this not work at all.

because honestly there is not much of a difference between 3 and 4.0 besides camera zoom and folders.

thanks

Nope, 3GS firmware will not even install on a non-3GS device.
You will not be able to get 3GS features just by installing a 3GS IPSW to a regural 3G or 2G iphone. Its not that simple. The hardware is not the same.

thats what i figured...but i wanted to ask just to be sure!

maybe im missing features...but i can't find anything else besides camera zoom and folders....which then get broken when i sync with itunes anyway.

no multitasking...no orientation lock...no fancy ipod controls...not even a simple background on the homescreen.
oh well....
