put in new video card, now mouse pointer is a white square! help!

i have a dual 450 gigabitE g4 with a ati pro 128 card with 16mb. i got a nvidia geforce2 mx card and put it in and now my mouse pointer is a white square, a pink square, or somtimes a mutilcolor square.

WHY! please help me,

well i ve come to the conclusion that it is due to a tiger update and not a HW issue. i install tiger on a extra hd and under 10.4 the pointer appears fine.

but using software update to install 10.4.6 caused the pointer to change to a little square.

i DL 10.4.5 update and tried to 'backtrack' and see which update it was that 'broke the mouse' but it wouldnt let me install the 10.4.5 update since i already had 10.4.6

please help
