I have a Powerbook G4 (Model: A1095) that I am assuming has a bad CD drive. (When a disk is inserted, any kind of disk, it seems to be spinning it for about 20 seconds then ejects it). I have a MacBook Pro's SuperDrive (Model: Super857CA). Can I swap the bad CD drive in the PowerBook G4 with the MacBook Pro's SuperDrive?

i think the macbook pro uses an sata interface, while the powerbook uses ATA but i'm not positive on this one. If so, it'd probably be pretty hard to get that to work...

Let me know if you do get it, though! I'm also looking to replace my superdrive.

It will not work due to the profile. The mbp has a slimmer case than the PowerBook.

My best advice is buy an external MacBook air superdrive and cracked it open and direct install with no modifications. It works on all my PowerBook
