Hi All - I need to upgrade from my 2007 MBP with OS 10.6.8. Unfortunately, I have some proprietary software that definitely runs on 10.6. It may run on 10.7 (maybe) , but in an ideal world I'd be able to get a new Mac Mini (which is what I've identified as what I need) and downgrade to 10.6 on this new machine. does anyone know if this is possible? do I need to be looking into hackintosh or getting a used machine?

thanks!!

In general, you can't expect any Mac to run with an OS version lower than what it was shipped with. This can extend to even minor updates. I don't remember the exact numbers but there was a MBP (or MBA) that shipped with a special build of 10.7.4 (or some such) and wouldn't run with 10.7.3...

don't expect earlier versions to work.
