Put your ear to your MacBook Pro charger: Do you hear any sound? For some weird reason, mine does. It sounds like electricity when I am using the MacBook Pro and like oxygen escaping a gas tank when in sleep mode.

Any thoughts/comments on it?

its normal. THe charger is doing something ;) My advice, put headphones on instead of MBP chargers

:)

I hear a really high pitched squeal. But that's the sound I always hear whether it's listening to my macpro charger or to my pants pockets.

I hear the voices I always hear. They're telling me to troll this thread, so I must comply!

As long as you can hear it only when you put your ear up to it then don't worry about it, I have had many different (not Apple) AC adapters that can be heard throughout the room for various electronics, now that drives me crazy. Luckily it seems to be all my dads stuff and he can't even hear noises that high without putting his ear up to the charger so it's a moot point for him.

My 85w definitely hums, while the 60w is much quieter. The 85w hasn't crapped out yet in over a year, so I assume it's fine.

It's just that I'm really paranoid now about MacBook Pros catching on fire and melting down the frame.

I have "listened" to other MacBook chargers. It seems normal. :)

Ya rly. :D

Haha ok. It seems that it's normal then.

Thanks for your replies! :)
