I got a Mac mini (1st gen, 1.25 GHz G4) thinking I'd be able to put 10.3 on in because it shipped with 10.3.7. But its restore CDs contain 10.4. I have the retail version of 10.3.0 and it won't install on it. Is there anything I can do to put 10.3 on this mini? Can I get the older 10.3 restore CDs somehow? Or maybe slipstream 10.3.9 onto the retail CDs?

Buy Leopard. I put it on my first gen mini 1.25 with 1gig ram. Runs much better than Tiger.

Guys, I need 10.3 there for testing...

edit: on a suggestion of an old time Mac user, I'm just installing in target disk mode from my PB. Seems to be working so far....

Oh, not good. I finished with the target mode install of 10.3 and now it won't start at all. I can hear the startup chime but the screen doesn't come on at all. Zapped the PRam. Tried the single user mode. Nothing. Argh!

edit: it booted after about 10 tries. Freaky. Everything is file...
