My friend dumped his ATT account cause the service is just horrendous by him.

Anyway he asked me to sell it on Ebay for him but he said I could swap the sim out and use it for awhile if i wanted.

I have a 1st gen iPhone.

Can you even do that? I know ATT charges more for the 3G data plan, will they even know?

Just wondering, thanks.

So are you asking to put a 1st gen iPhone SIM in a 3G iPhone?? Or in a regular phone. I'm sure it would work for a while since they don't really monitor that kind of thing, but you will have his number and account, which is a little shady.

Yes it will work just fine to put your originial iPhone SIM into an iPhone 3G. Everything will work just fine and you can expect to receive a few emails and SMS Txt messages from AT&T concering the use of an invalid iPhone data plan in the iPhone 3G.
