Putting back my apps stack

Dear members, for some reason I inadvertently removed my apps stack from the dock so I tried to make another one but here's the problem, The blue folder that the apps stack appears as was not there, just icon on top of icon. How do i get the get the default folder with the a in the middle please.

Right click it. Check display as: folder, vs display as stack.
