I took Safari out of its place in the Dock, which is on the far right.

I was just wondering, how do you put it back in there as I noticed that a space is not provided for it on that part of the dock. The part that has Downloads, Documents and Trash.

You never actually had Safari -- the application -- in that part of the Dock (that side of the dock is reserved for documents, folders and the Trash). You probably had a web shortcut (icon looks like a spring with an at-sign), which when clicked launched Safari to the web site (I believe the default Dock includes a web shortcut to apple.com).

To get it back, drag any link or the favicon from Safari to the right side of the Dock.
