Putting serato on used macbook g4

Hello everybody. I'm in the process of purchasing new dj gear. I will be using serato scratch live, and in this I need to purchase a new laptop. I've decided on a mac.

I came across an ad for a macbook in my area on craigslist- and these are the details.

MAC iBook G4 -12 inch w/extras - $300

and for serato, these are the requirements i need:

* 1 GHz G4
* 1 GB RAM*
* 1024 x 768 screen resolution
* OSX 10.3.9 or higher
* Intel Macs require Scratch Live version 1.5 or higher
* Available USB port (USB 2.0 required
for SL 3)


now i know that i'll need to do some upgrading. warning - i'm a total noob. is it possible to upgrade this computer to the needed requirements, and if so, how much am i looking at here in terms of cost? just a rough estimate because i know it will vary depending on where i take the computer...

Look around some more, and find an iBook >1ghz. If that's the minimum req's, then 800mhz (0.8ghz) may run in to issues. There's no way to easily upgrade the CPU in an iBook.

Save your bones and find a cheap macbook. The G4 is really like buying an entry level P4.. I would not use that for a damn thing.
