Putting time machine backup onto a new computer?

So basically Apple replaced my MacBook Pro. I was wondering if it's possible to take my backup from that computer, and restore the new Mac with it?

Thanks!

EDIT: Forgot to mention, I know I can use a utility such as Migration assistant, but I don't know if it works from one mac to another.
