PVR setup

I need to record 2 security camera video feeds to hard drive and later check out these videos in external monitor or connect that drive to my Mac and check out these videos in Mac.

If i buy one of these PVRs which are sold in link below, can i do that or does these require to be connected to Windows computer all the time or during setup? Some of these type of PVRs specs say that only Windows is supported.

I think i will buy this type of PVR with built in display.

Why these products have Windows as requirement?

Is Windows required only if you want to watch videos in your computer and these products can be used as standalone dvr too???

Those seem like good questions for the manufacture or retailer since they are familiar with the product.
