So the biggest question for many of us is whether or not the new iPhone XR uses PWM or DC to dim its LCD screen. Has there been any news to this effect now that it has been available for a couple of days?

But that’s not what you... oh never mind.

Are we talking about HTC here or an Apple product? An Apple product I think ? If so why would it matter if a HTC M8 ( chose a random LCD display phone that isn’t made by Apple with no knowledge of if it has it or not ) uses it or not ? It doesn’t matter since Apple has never done it and as such why would the XR has it ...

It is when we are talking about Apple LCD vs Apple OLED. Apple has never used it on their lcd displays and it wouldn’t change now over a decade later

I think they use high frequency PWM on the MacBook/MacBook Pro’s LCD’s at lower brightness settings.
