Pwnagetool 4.1 question

-Got a 3GS (new Boot) running 3.1.2 unlocked with only 4.1 blobs saved in Cydia.

-My question is, can I restore to a custom 4.1 ispw with PwnageTool to preserve baseband even though Apple stop signing it a log time ago?

- If yes, just use PwnageTool, create and restore to a custom ispw, or do I have to update to 4.1 with tinyumbrella?
