I recorded video on a DVD recorder and my Mac was able to read it before, now when I insert the DVD one of two things: My Mac won't see it at all or sometimes it will pop up telling me it's a blank DVD. I tried other recorders and it seems seems to be doing the same thing now. Is there formating issues or upgrades that I need to look for. I have an interanal Sony DVD RW DW-U21A on my G5.

could be a bad burn or it has become corrupted.

its an organic dye that creates a DVDR, problems are bound to happen.

burn it again if you can.

Sounds like bad media, did you use a namebrand or generic media? You may need to experiment a bit, but I've found the stuff made in Taiwan is pretty low quality. Even the namebrand companies will use stuff made in Taiwan for their large spindle packs. You may want to try getting some Taiyo Yuden media, you can find it online or just look for the namebrand media that is made in Japan (used to be Fuji 10 packs but was Sony 10 packs the last time I checked). I've burned over 500 of them and of those, only 4 so far have been bad.
