I've been letting my kids watch videos, and she handed it back to me a few days ago, and the display is black and white and shades of gray. It boots up in color, but after that - b&w.

It's gotta be an extension turned on/off, right? Can someone give me specific step to correcting this?

My Mac is running 102.8/512 MB Memory, 667 Mhz PwrPCG4
 
Yes, that key command puts the screen into inverse colour mode, not actually black and white. It's quite good when you're working in the dark and you're looking at websites or word processing documents, I suppose.
