Hi,

A while back, I downloaded a trial version of PyCharm to replace SubEthaEdit, and it ran fine. I knew it was a trial but just wanted to test it. Before the trial ended, I installed PyCharm CE after seeing it mentioned somewhere.

At first, it ran okay, but I noticed my Mac’s overall speed decreased. Coincidence? I tried running the full trial version again, and the performance returned to normal—until the trial expired. Now, using PyCharm CE, my Mac gradually slows down over time.

Is this a known issue?
Could it be a settings problem?
What can I do to fix it?

Any insights or suggestions would be appreciated!
If you’re not experiencing this issue, please let me know as well.

Thanks!

While running PyCharm CE, launch Activity Monitor and review how much RAM is used by PyCharm CE.

I did before and saw it uses 1,69GB and ( still) in the top 3. The other things like process and network looks very normal, nothing special.
I noticed that there are several 'window server's' are added when it runs.

CPU % 5-9%
Ram 1,69GB
