Q:Need adapter to connect Dell 2408WFP to Mac Pro? A:NO,use DVI

Do I need to buy an adapter from Apple to be able to connect a Dell 2408WFP display to a Mac Pro?

If the monitor has DVI, just use DVI. It's a 24" monitor, so it'll have DVI.

What Skil said is your best choice. If for whatever reason you don't want to do that, you can use any of these:

Thanks Skil! Thanks Bob! Your quick replies pointed me in the right direction--->

This is why I thought I needed an adapter:
The "pin pattern" on the white DVI cable connector that came with the Dell 2408WFP did not match the "pattern" on the Mac DVI female socket. Therefore, I mistakenly rejected that cable without even trying it.

After reading replies to my post here, I googled DVI, and have found that there are several types with different pin patterns:

Bottom line, I'm embarassed to say, all I had to do was PLUG IT IN!
