Hello all, I've had a cMP1,1 and a cMP5,1 for a while. It was obvious to go with the 5,1 even after upgrading the 1,1 for nothing else, to have 64-bit functionality without hacking it.

I recently picked up a 2008 cMP 3,1, and the decision isn't so cut and dry.

Here are the stats of my 5,1:
1x QC Xeon 2.8GHz 4cores 256k L2 & 8MB L3 (W3530)
16GB 1066Mhz RAM (2x8GB)
Radeon HD 5770 1024MB

Here are the stats of the 3,1:
2x QC Xeon 2.8 8 cores 12MB L2 x2 (E5462)
16GB 667Mhz RAM (8x2GB)
Radeon HD 2600 256MB

I have an ADATA SU800 256GB SSD in a 1xPCIe card, and I can relocate it and the 5770 into either one. I do have a line on a pair of 3Ghz QC xeons for under a hundred bucks, and plenty of other xeon CPU pairs and additional RAM for the 3,1. The 3,1 maxes out at El Cap, but that's what I'm running on both of them, plus both of my iMacs. I do have a hard drive with High Sierra in the 5,1, but that's just for funzies.

My use is basically just Photoshop, Runescape, web browsing, and otherwise basic everyday usage.

What do you think? Should I start using the 3,1?
