I popped a 5770 into my 1,1 last week, and I've been suspicious that something wasn't right ever since - it didn't seem to be an improvement over the previous 7300 at all.

Today, I attempted to open iMovie, and got the following message:

"Quartz Extreme required. iMovie requires a graphics card that is compatible with Quartz extreme. One or more of your graphics cards does not support Quartz Extreme".

Sure enough, system info shows the card as being recognised but no mention of Quartz anywhere

DVD player doesn't work either - if I recall my hackintosh days, that needed QE too. Dashboard isn't rippling either :)

I'm running 10.6.4 - and I'd applied the snow leopard graphics update after installing the card. Any ideas how I can get it working?

Well, just in case anyone has a similar issue, download the snow leopard graphics update from apple and run it as a standalone package rather than through software update.

iMovie, DVD Player and dashboard all behaving themselves now
