Qi Charging & Carplay

During the keynote there was a brief mention of Qi wireless charging and CarPlay. Would a charging mat work with CarPlay now (once you have your 8 or X)?

I have the same question. If I get Qi car charger and connect to my USB port which does carplay and when I am charging my phone on it, will it establish carplay connection?

If the phone is plugged in for CarPlay, then wireless charging makes no sense because you're already wired. Wireless charging in the car only makes sense if you're not using CarPlay at all or using wireless CarPlay (which is still quite rare).

I was thinking about convenience factor. So if I have a magnetic Qi charger(which will need some kind of power supply) which comes from USB port which for carplay (I have 3 USB ports in my car but only one does carplay), will it be connect as carplay.
