Hi All

I've had a bad IT week.
My 500gb time capsule had the 18mth death although Apple replaced it.
My 500gb Linkstation failed but i got it back up with a firmware upgrade.

This got me thinking of a single NAS solution for back up and media storage where I sync movies to my ATV 95gb and growing.
I also backup my mac book pro to the time capsule.

I've been looking at a two bay QNAP NAS with 1.5tb drives in a raid one.
looking at the web site I can create folders with a size limit and was thinking 500gb for time machine, 1tb for movies.

The cheaper option is to keep the replacement time capsule for backing the mac.
Keep the link station live and buy a usb hard drive to back it up.

I'd prefer to do the best long term solution.
Do you think this is a good idea??

Cheers Phil

Phil,
I have a QNAP 119 Turbo NAS with 1.5TB HD and it works great. I also own a Synology DS-207 with two 1TB drives to ensure all my data is backed up and all of my music and videos are readily available at all times. Itunes works great on both of them.
