Hi everyone,

I have been reading the forums a lot, and it seems that a lot of people recommend Synology. I was doing some research on NAS myself and I came across QNAP

qnap recently released their hd station (video for reference http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xu59r_MrVag&noredirect=1) and more info http://www.qnap.com/hdstation/us/

Is this a viable option to skip your media player? I think its really cool how you can have a file share/backup/ BT dl and more all in one with the QNAP. Anyone have experience on the product? It seems like QNAP has everything Synology has and more

any feedback is greatly appreciated :)

I've owned two Qnap NAS drives, a TS-409 Pro Turbo II and a TS-439, and I hated both of them: constant disconnects from the network, slow transfer rates...it wasn't fun.

I now have a Synology 419+ and I couldn't be happier. For someone like me who doesn't have much networking savvy (I just want something that works with my network), the Synology was everything I could ask for.
